Norway AI strategy
Strategy documents set procurement expectations before law does. Norwegian public bodies increasingly require suppliers to evidence the strategy's ethical principles, making it a commercial requirement rather than a statement of intent.
What it is
Norway's AI policy is set out in a national AI strategy and the digitalisation strategy running to 2030, built on ethical principles drawn from the EU high-level expert group, public-sector adoption targets, and sustained funding for AI research centres and national computing capacity.
The 2020 AI strategy is now carried forward by the national digitalisation strategy to 2030 and successive budget allocations for AI research centres and national compute.
